MANAVA products draws inspiration from Cambodian Kbach symbols, traditionally used in pottery and Cambodian temple carvings. Kbach refers to any Cambodian art-form or style in the Khmer, but more commonly relating to decorative elements of Cambodian architecture.
Kbach shapes are abstractions of nature-based imagery
Each MANAVA product is inspired by a Kbach symbol and has a story to tell. The 'Fishtooth Basket' is inspired by the Kbach fish tooth symbol, we took this symbol and created our own unique pattern.
The shape of the 'Fishtooth' basket was inspired by 12th century Cambodian jar forms. These jars, for centuries have been used to store liquids such as water, wine and oil.
