INSPIRATION

MANAVA products draws inspiration from Cambodian Kbach symbols,  traditionally used in pottery and Cambodian temple carvings. Kbach refers to any Cambodian art-form or style in the Khmer, but more commonly relating to decorative elements of Cambodian architecture.

Kbach shapes are abstractions of nature-based imagery

PATTERN

The 'Traiy' basket pattern is inspired by the Kbach spine of a dragon (neak) symbol. We took this symbol and made various combinations, to create our own unique pattern with it.

ABOUT THE SHAPE

The 'Traiy' basket is inspired from a traditional Cambodian tray, which was used to offer goods during ritual ceremonies. People would often place this tray on their heads when offering goods to a Monk.
